Following hard on the heals of the Faith and the Arts Summer School came Foundations Trainer's Training which led straight into the week long Foundations course held here in Poatina twice a year. Once again it was a fabulous two weeks seeing people (including myself) grow in awareness, understanding and skill as trainers but also in the general things of living this life. Again I was leading a group of 12 for the week of Foundations, 3 of whom were from Ghana, the others were from all over Australia; the group represented an eclectic range of backgrounds. It was really special to be part of the group as we journeyed through the week and grew to appreciate each other and God's work in our lives. The week ended with the Australia Day festival in the village which included the women's gum boot toss and the gruelling Australian wheelbarrow race which goes through a few Ks of local bush – each team is welcomed back with cheers and gentle hosing from the village fire engine!

I started the year as usual with Faith and the Arts. Part of the team, I was responsible again for leading worship throughout the week as well as helping run the music elective. It was a fantastic experience working with Steve and Hannah Cooper from Sydney, the people in the music elective went on a profound journey together and as individuals re-discovering and expressing their hearts in creativity and music and discovering God in the process. It was humbling being part of leading the wider group in worship through the week and see them come together by the end of the week with one heart to worship God through rhythm, sculpture, painting, song, movement and music.

The Saturday between Christmas and New Year I took 3 girls down to Hobart with me. I have always wanted to visit Salamanca market down there and we had a great time! Taste of Tasmania was happening as well – an annual food and wine festival, a huge venue with lots of stuff to taste and try! As part of this there were a range of professional, international buskers dotted around the area. The winner of the Sydney Hobart race had arrived the day before; we got to see another yatch arrive from the race and meet some of the crews who had come in over the previous 24 hours. We ended the day by visiting some friends down at the fusion base there some who had moved house down from Poatina the day before.

At the end of term before Christmas I myself and 4 other girls who had just graduated from C4 spent two days and a night in Cradle Mountain reserve. We had a great time! The first day we battled wind and cold rain and saw nothing in the way of views for all our effort! We went back to base had a huge meal, watched a movie on Julie's lap top and went to bed exhausted. The second day was full of glorious blue skies and warm sunshine! 3 of us tackled Cradle Mountain again and enjoyed some amazing views while Julie and I took the more leisurely option around Dove Lake.
